There is much debate about how to convince climate change deniers and politicians to help thwart a possible climate collapse. While mainstream scientists continue adding layers to the plethora of scientific data proving that the planet is experiencing global climate change, perhaps it is time that we, as a movement, shift our strategy from logic to love. Yes, you read correctly. I am arguing that we should be less reliant on science and focus more on rationality. It is time for us to strum on the heartstrings of deniers and politicians in order to convince them that they have a personal stake in our planet’s well-being.

It’s no surprise to hear that biodiversity is being threatened with the onset of human expansion. As we take resources from the natural world and put them into our own, we do so at the expense of the lives of other organisms. Although the problem is widespread- it is not completely uniform. Some areas are affected more than others, and in order to employ conservation efforts we often use hotspots to determine which areas are affected the most.

Deep bellow the ocean exterior lies the Oceanic crust, which covers about 70 percent of the Earth’s surface. There have been many studies of its geology, however nothing is known about its biology. Initial studies are proving to have important information that may hold positive change for the future of our marine ecosystems.

Using old skateboard pieces from broken and crashed boards, Japanese artist, Haroshi, creates innovative art that bends the senses (and the board). Haroshi, who is also a longtime skateboarder himself, is inspired by styles such as wooden mosaic, dots and pixels. He is familiar with all intrinsic parts of the skateboard deck, including the shape, concave, truck, and wheels, so his designs are not only influenced by skateboards, but stem from a deep adoration and appreciate of skating.

Exhibited this past week at the Mass-Trans Innovation in Japan, Kawasaki’s design has raised the curiosity of the industry and gained the attention of the public.

Taking San Francisco by storm on November 6 and 7 at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center, the Green Festival, a project of environmental and social justice nonprofits Green America and Global Exchange, brought healthier environmental, economical and social solutions to an enthusiastic crowd of thousands who attended presentations, film screenings, food and wine tastings, exhibit booths and even a fashion show.

Pledge for the Planet
The Tea Party is known for being organized, vocal, and always in the spotlight. Most recently, numerous Tea Party and Republican leaders signed a pledge, which clarified their views on topics like gay marriage and taxes. This pledge required them to make a very public promise to remain faithful to their beliefs.
